Bennett is Back
I just saw "The History Boys", the film tells the story of a group of students in Yorkshire in the mid-eighties, who seek a place at Oxford or
Cambridge, all of whom are boys and street smart but low self-esteem. Among the characters is the headmaster obsessed with the results of boys and somewhat incredulous of his abilities, but the most charismatic
homosexual is an eccentric teacher who has been dubbed (Hector), which I imagine is the very Alan Bennett / writer of the book and one of the British authors most beloved since it first appeared on stage in 1960 /.
What causes much surprise me is the way the boys enjoy the abusive sexual conduct of his teacher, who will touch your private parts every time someone gets on his bike, maybe that only happens in Bennett's head, but you have to rescue is the humor and good command of language that Alan Bennett puts in the mouths of his characters and of course appear on the soundtrack The Smiths and New Order.
